1.2. Quick Start

This section contains key steps on how to quick-start the program. Detailed description for each step is provided in the corresponding subsections.

1.2.1. Installing Boro VoD Server

Pick the suitable hardware for your platform, download the archive containing the installer, and follow the instructions provided in the Installing Boro VoD Solution section.

1.2.2. Activate the product

After installation, activate the license. To do so, receive the certificates from Elecard technical support team and apply them in the system. For an in-depth dive into the process, see Installing Boro VoD Solution → Installing Certificates (more on that).

1.2.3. Create a Project and Run the Boro VoD Probe

  • Sign in, create your first project on the Projects page by clicking on AddProject;

  • You will then be redirected to its page that’s part of Dashboard;

  • Go to Probes page. Click on GetProbe, causing the archive with probe applications to start downloading;

  • Unpack the archive to the directory of your choice;

  • Launch the probe. The process is described in the Web Interface → Probes → Launching the Probe section (more on that).

1.2.4. Prepare a Test Template

A template specifies the set of tests used to validate a media file. Boro VoD includes ready-made test templates bundled with the solution. If required, you can configure and adjust them according to your own needs. In-depth description available at Web Interface → Templates (more on that).

1.2.5. Create Your First Task

To create a task, click on AddTask while on the Dashboard page. Specify the media file and test template.
